The Archaeological Museum ‘KAMALARC’ – ‘Kalaimagal Meenakshisundaram Archaeological Learning & Research Centre’ in the school was set up by Selvi. M Muthiah with the assistance of Pulavar. Raju, Professor in Tamil University, Tanjore, and it was opened by the then Hon.Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.G. Ramachandran on 11th Mar 1981. From then onwards it is attracting number of Archaeological Researchers from all over India and from Foreign Countries. The museum has got a rare specimen of Terracota Head of Apollo, the Roman God and Quartz weapons, pot sherds, Conch Shell bangles – surface collection by the hostel children in Kodumanal near Noyyal River.
Roman coins found there prove the Roman trade relations with Kongunadu during 1st century. Varieties of collections from Dharmapuri, Arikamedu adorn the show cases. Several stone inscriptions, carvings and sculptures with vivid descriptions about them are a feast to the eyes of the visitors. Epigraphists from Mysore have taught the students how to take prints from stone inscriptions. Veterinary Doctors from Chennai have assembled the bones of a dead elephant found in Sathyamangalam forest. A big Urn with two skeletons was found while digging a sump in the school campus along with similar urns found in the vicinity are displayed. Two volumes of ‘Kalaimagal Kalaikudam’ written by Pulavar Raju have been published.
